What We Do

Bixteth Partners specialises in sourcing growth capital for early-stage companies to enable founders and managements to fulfil their plans and potential.   We advise on capital requirements and growth planning with the aim of getting clients “investment ready” whatever the stage of growth, Seed, Early Growth, Series-A or beyond.  We assist with plans for an ultimate exit or strategic investment, whether that turns out to be PE or secondary VC investment, trade sale or IPO (Aquis, AIM or Main Market).  We do not often assist companies which are pre-revenue or in very early revenue as it is not a sweet spot for our investor network, however we are happy to offer advice and potentially some introductions.

It is very important to target the right investors at the right stage of growth and size of raise, we understand how to do that and where to take a particular mandate – this often where companies raising for themselves go wrong.  They can waste a lot of management time and risk getting a “no” recorded on an investor’s database which makes it hard to return when that investor is appropriate later.

We have an extensive network of investors ranging from HNW individuals and Family Offices, VC funds and VCTs (both equity and debt), Private Equity firms and Investment Banks and aim to find the right investors for both the stage of growth, and also to try and ensure that the investors can where possible bring more than just capital to the relationship.  Our “sweet spot” is funding requirements between £1m-£10m although we have worked on both smaller and larger deals.  We are sector agnostic but tend to prefer businesses that we and our generalist investors understand, hence we have limited experience in Deeptech and Life Sciences for example.

Examples of recent mandates for capital raises are a tech company producing VR showrooms (£3m – third transaction for them), a luxury spirits brand (£5m), a digital printing business (£2.25m) a legaltech co (£1m) and an industrial recycling business (£6m).

We have access to Corporate Finance, Tax, Legal and Comms/PR advice where clients require it.
