Who We Are
Guy Briselden
Guy has over 25 years’ experience in the City, having worked for firms including BZW, CSFB, Dresdner Kleinwort and Cenkos. He has worked as an equity salesman and corporate broker and has a broad range of sector knowledge including oil and gas, mining, logistics, fintech and digital sectors. Guy graduated from Durham University and served in the British Army for seven years.
David Melvin
David is a Senior Advisor to Bixteth Partners and an investment and financial services professional with over 30 years experience, in investment banking and private equity. His expertise spans M&A, ECM, leveraged finance, fund raising and principal investing.
Currently David is a Director of Pantheon International PLC, Chair of HBA Media, and an active investor with 24 Haymarket Private Capital. David was a Partner at TDR Capital, a European private equity firm with €8bn AUM, prior to which he spent 24 years at Merrill Lynch, latterly Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He was a Managing Director at Merrill for 12 years and held a number of leadership positions including Global Co-Head of Financial Sponsors.
David is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has an Economics degree from Cambridge University.
Robin Maxwell
Robin graduated from the European Business School (London) and pursued a 30 year career in small cap equity research, broking and ECM with a principal focus on Germany and the wider DACH region. Principally responsible for UK based investors, Robin cut his teeth at County NatWest and later helped build leading franchises at Schroders/Citi, Dresdner Kleinwort and Commerzbank. In 2019, Robin set up Farnham Capital Ltd to bring capital introduction, investor relations and related advisory services to start-ups and scale-ups. Whilst Farnham Capital is focussed on helping UK companies in a post Brexit environment, a longer term ambition is to bring capital and ideas to and from the wider EU. Robin is passionate about introducing relevant an patient capital to growing companies and is working closely with Bixteth Partners to broaden our combined network and reach.
Steve Charnock
Steve qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986 before joining Charterhouse Securities as a building and construction analyst, later becoming a Managing Director and Head of Research. He was voted number one construction analyst in 2000 and 2001 in the Reuters survey for UK smaller companies. He set up his own consultancy business in early 2003, co-founded Cenkos Fund Managers in 2007 and co-founded SenecaPartners in 2010. Both companies invested in private companies and provided advice on how to grow them. Steve has sat on a number of private and public company boards and continues to work with companies helping them to grow.
Greg Lawless
Greg has over 25 years experience in Capital Markets. He started his career at Safeway in a variety of commercial and strategic roles, before becoming a retail equity analyst at both Shore Capital and HSBC amongst others. He was also a strategic communications adviser working across a range of retail and consumer companies and was also a freelance journalist at both The Times and Financial Times.
Greg graduated from Manchester Met University with a degree in Retail Marketing and also has a Corporate Finance qualification from London Business School.
He advises growth companies in their development with a specialism in crafting their investment stories to both financial media and potential investors.
Sara Grobler
Sara is an Executive Assistant for Bixteth Partners.
Sara has over 20 years’ experience in the City, having worked for firms including Commerzbank, Dresdner Kleinwort and Cenkos.
Results-oriented project manager and experienced Personal and research assistant with a demonstrated track record across personnel supervision, training, budget administration, correspondence, records management, and continuous process improvement.
Iain White
Iain works for DSG Chartered Accountants and provides accounting, financial reporting and M&A related services to owner managed businesses. Working alongside corporate clients on buy side financial due diligence engagements he focusses on minimising transaction risk and ensuring efficient transaction execution. Iain also advised entrepreneurs seeking to dispose of their businesses to trade or private equity buyers with a particular focus on the pre -transaction phase where improving the quality of management information is an essential element in maximising exit value.
Iain also has significant Capital Markets experience having worked with several domestic and overseas businesses in their AIM and Main Market flotation processes, together with leading a large number of other Class Transactions.
